A case study – our Fall 18 Battery Street Peacoat (and everything you need to pair it with).
When we set out to design and build our Battery Street Peacoat for Fall 18, we looked at a lot of historical references, including the officer’s coat as well as several best-in-class vintage peacoats. From the cloth to the pocket welts, even the buttons were given a true study. We sourced a midnight navy mid-weight wool twill from Italy that’s really closer to a blazer weight, mostly because we wanted to be able to wear it for more than one season. We channel-quilted the interior lining to beat the Fall/Winter chill. We sourced mil-spec buttons from America’s oldest military button provider; Waterbury Buttons in Hartford, CT. They give it a bit more polish than the usual navy melamine anchor buttons. We added trapunto top-stitching under the collar for a bit more structure. And then we left the rest alone.
