Chambray has a storied history. By the turn of the 18th century, it was authorized by the U.S. Navy. Durable yet lightweight and breathable, chambray made its way as the shirting fabric of choice among U.S. workers, giving birth to the "blue collar" term. It has a signature pattern that almost gives a heathered look. So we quickly knew a chambray shirt woven from cotton and linen was the only choice for our signature Capitan.
